BCS Standard Coupler Threaded Rebar Splicing Instruction
\u2981 After removing the plastic thread protector from the rebar, hand-tighten the standard coupler onto the corresponding rebar as much as possible. In this state, a few of the end threads of the rebar will remain outside the coupler. It is not necessary to use a wrench (spanner) to fully tighten all threads in this initial step.
\u2981 Next, after removing the plastic thread protector from the opposing rebar, hand-tighten it into the coupler as much as possible. Then, using a specialized wrench (available from BOB Company) or a pipe wrench, fully tighten the second rebar until its final thread is securely fastened into the coupler. In this final state, all threads of both rebars must be enclosed within the coupler, and it is mandatory for the ends of the two rebars to meet within the coupler.
\u2981 If the rebar threads have developed rust for any reason, they must be cleaned using a wire brush. If necessary, apply grease or oil to the threads before proceeding with the splicing.
\u2981 To facilitate the inspection and control of the spliced connections, it is recommended to use red paint to mark the couplers after they have been fully tightened.
